I am charging it now and will set a timer to see just how long it flies for as long as its not too dark.... although this thing lites up like crazy. LOL
What would it take to get more time flying? Bigger battery or what? I'd love to have one of these but I always see flight times of 7 minutes or less and then like a 3-5 hour recharge time. Just seems like it would get old recharging it so often.

Bigger batteries have a point of diminishing returns with weight. Also several hours of charge time is absurd for a lipo.

        • Most take an hour to charge on a good charger. Some high performance batteries can be charged in 20 minutes. You just get several of them and you are good for a couple hours. You are usually done flying after that long anyway. LOL

The battery on my quad is 6s, 8300mah. Everyone knows that charging at 1s is pretty much the safe standard so that alone is 8.3a right there. Hell I have packs from Hobbyking that say that I can charge at 5s. I don't do it but it is the general consensus that charging around 2s for a pack in good shape is safe. For that pack that would be 16a. I have charged it as high as 20a and it does not even get warm. When your packs have low internal resistance you can charge and discharge faster with less worries.

                      ^LMAO!!

But yeah, inline is right on the money. When I was doing the fast foamies I had some 3000 45C packs and I would often charge a pair at 2S and thats 12 amps. Then that charger was stolen at the fuggin field. *mad face* So I bought my first Imax B6 and i tell ya, at $35 it has been one of my favorite chargers. Only has a 5a capacity though. Fine for the batteries I use now.

Unfortunately the 250 quads are so small I am limited on battery size without upsetting its balance. With four 2350 motors it needs better than the 25C battery it came with. So i am limited to 1500mah 35c batteries for now. Should be able to charge the new ones at 3 amps.

                      • Those are 2350kv motors? Damn that's screaming, my big quad has 370kv motors, lol.

                        • yeah it has some power. Did my first FPV today and crashed it. Seems to have only broke two props. This FPV is gonna take some practice and i need to not do it in a tree filled back yard. LOL

                          • I need to step up to a nicer charger. My hobbyking $12 potato chargers probably are not the best.

                            • Not the best camera, (go ahead and click it over to 1080p) but this is what happens when you take a BF109, 17mph wind, and the desire to knife edge flat spin.

I tell ya, the Imax B6AC is only $30-$35 all over ebay. I have charged hundreds and hundreds of batteries with it and it always does great. It even brought back a few batteries my other chargers insisted were shot. The battery conditioner is very well done. It also has a "storage" charge for if your batteries are gonna sit up for a bit. Good controlled discharger as well. Just an all around great charger.

On another note i was just testing to make sure the quad was okay and it is. As i was flying it (7:15PM) my buddy showed up and said "How high can it go?" Higher than you can see it I told him but he still goaded me to go high. It was at 1' and i punched it. 7 seconds latter it was invisable as we have fog at about 200'. LOL Thank gawd its so stable and held its position remarkbly well even with the 8 MPH winds and 12 mph gusts.
scared the poo out of me. Wont be doing that again. LOL
