I have been looking for a new Tx, My DX7s is great but I need more channels. I have seen those taranis but they scare me with how cheap they are... You know anyone looking for a cherry DX7s with backlight mod?

I added landing gear to one of my simple bombers and WOW is it fun to do touch and go after touch and go with. I burned through five batteries yesterday.


I'm now trying to figure out a way to make the gear removable so the plane can still be broken down for transport. Here’s a video.



I also picked up a spare shell for my frsky Taranis and painted it. Once I get the upgraded speaker in, I will rebuild it into the new shell and have the first "patina" Taranis out there. I love this radio.

I have also been a busy boy. I have been making progress on my Storm Chaser, and have added 3 new quadcopters to the hangar (ares qx130, sk450 UFO and sk450 dead cat for FPV)
I have been having too much fun flying around the golf course at dusk. It get quite the response from the golfers, neighbors, and passing traffic. FPV gear is my next purchase.

Decent FPV gear is crazy, I just dropped some coin on a GP4, camera gimbal, VTX, and video goggles.

I love quads. I have a few small ones and am about to get a larger one. I had planned on a Phantom or 350 but the new Bebop fills my needs better with all its GPS navigation, FPV, tablet/phone remote and the new remote system they have that gives almost 2 miles range. I like being able to just use Google Earth and pick a location and tell it to fly there and come back.

Tech is pretty impressive now.

from last night getting ready to paint.


I used an old wagner power painter to cover them. It was way way way faster than hand painting. now all thats left is cutting the ailerons elevators and rudders and add electronics and motors. I'm going to paint the ailerons and tails like the first one in the next pic but each one will be a different color to help keep the pilots from watching the wrong plane during formation.

I can wait to see all 8 planes in the air at once with a few mustangs running defense for them. My dream is working on coming true and I couldn't be happier.


My long term pipe dream is to do an annual WWII memorial show with bombers, fighter, pyrotechnics, music, and an announcer calling the show for spectators. I think it would be a great way to teach kids about their history while at the same time honoring our hero's, and getting people excited about the rc hobby.
