    Most racers have just mounted them in the wheel well and they point at the tire. You could probably use a tube clamp and point at the tire from a nerf bar or something? It might look goofy but you probably only need to see the rear tires to monitor heat based on track moisture level. Would be a great tell of how dry the track is or how hot you get a tire throughout the race.

    In all honesty, these thermal imaging cameras are probably pretty easy to get ahold of and the recording device is just a camera. That makes it easier than developing a signal recorder, interpreting software and display device!

          Wow, prices for this stuff are all over the place. From $375 for an overlay/app for you iPhone, to $25,000. I did find some interesting info on a night vision rifle scope that is only $4k! LOL!
