I could be wrong, but I don't think they are immune, per se. Regardless, that might as well be a live snake, danger-wise. If it can bite, it can still inject venom.

I always treat them like they are still alive. A few weeks ago, I ventilated one about that size in my front yard. Sister damned near stepped on it. Two rounds to the skull, then I removed his head and buried it. Even with the hole in it's severed head, I treated it like a live snake.
