If you have ever been in a c47...like me, you are probably thinking how it didn't destroy itself in about 15 seconds of fire....if it had a larger rudder?

      for domestic use?
Don't worry about what you can't change.
Do the best you can with what you have.
Be honest, even if it hurts.

That was used in 'Nam (the C-47).

Very cool aircraft. They have one down at Hurby (some other cool Vietnam era aircraft too), and I think there is one at the Eglin AFB armament museum too. When I lived in Navarre, FL you could hear the AC130s at night training on the range. Spent many a night out in the backyard drinking beer listening to those things tear shit up.

I liked it when they put a 105mm howitzer up in one of those AC-130's! Now that is fire power!

Info on the AC-130H and AC-130U gunships operated by USAF Special Operations Squadrons. Read info, specs and view photos.

When we would go on a mission with a GAU-17 (or two) aboard, we'd typically carry 2000-3000 rounds per gun. That's a shitload of ammo in the cabin of the helo, but it made for many seconds of glorious entertainment.
