Yeah, I can really understand it. It feels like pissing money away. I've not really been in CA very much, all for work and the most time I spent in any of their cities was in San Francisco. Hated it.
Still, it's an experience. I find that interesting though that they are not aware of the cost of living elsewhere. At least most people in other areas kind of know it, but it's their home...etc...etc.
