SF has some too ... whoops, I mean we're clearly just dumb now.Originally posted by davbrucasI want to like Slow99 since people I know say he's a good guy, but just about everything he posts is condescending and passive aggressive.
Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?
You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

Here in LA, I dont even want to go anywhere because parking takes nearly as long as it does to drive to the location, unless of course you want to pay for valet.Originally posted by MR EDDU defend him who use's racial slurs like hes drinking water.

ironically the building I'm moving to was originally a car lift parking garage which is now turned into a loft.
"Accordingly, Beelman designed the garage around a huge freight elevator that could lift two cars at once."

Paying $180 for a parking spot a month, plus $2000 for a 800sq ft apartment that has no modern amenities ( unlress you count electricity ) against having a 2 bedroom 1200 sq ft apartment with 2 cars, for $950 when i left. But yeah, I guess Dallas could use some goold ol' fashioned car lifts for those massive parking space problems.
Curious did you account for the cost of living difference before moving out there? I know a couple of folks who would love to head back to LA and some other areas - but don't want to lose the disposable income.

I make good money and I have a gf for secondary revenue, but when it comes down to it, living 31 years in Texas at more than HALF the living cost, you're just never prepared for the mind swap. Even with my rent right now costing $1800 a month ( with a parking spot ), I still only pay 23% of my total income in rent, but I still feel like I am getting fucked.
I'm not sure how to explain it, I'm not broke, I have plenty of money, but that feeling of writing a check to cover rent is like OH FUCK THERE GOES MY BANK ACCOUNT every single fucking time.
Everything else costs about the same. Food might even be a little cheaper. Gas is more expensive because they add some bullshit to lower pollution. They do WAY more fucking lobbying out here which is fucking annoying. Shit like DOWNTOWN IS HISTORICAL LANDMARK, which means that apartment buildings cant "deface" their exterior by upgrading their windows. What does that mean? You fucking hear EVERYTHING outside because they have windows from the 40's still installed.
I miss Texas, then I go outside and I'm like, ok its not so bad. Imagine that one week in fall and one week in spring, the weather is pretty much like that every single day, and that's no joke.
Oh, and to see a SHIT fucking house in the ghetto going for $500k, I tell my coworkers, $500k for a house in Texas is minimum 5,000 sq ft and includes strippers, 3 car garage, and a pool, they just dont believe you.
http://goo.gl/maps/vFsSX These homes are all worth $350k -> $500k..... seriously.Last edited by abecx; 08-17-2013, 02:14 AM.
