  • Classic Country

Been listening to a lot of '70s-80s country music lately. Damn it's good stuff!

Post up a couple of your favorites.

Yeah, what am I thinking, calling 30-40 year old music 'classic.' Pretty sure I can go toe to toe with anyone in regards to 'old' music, as I have quite a bit of '30s-40s delta and country blues 78s along with a Sears Silvertone to play them on. The '40s-60s music has its place too, and I love those songs (Bob Wills IS still the king ) but the lyrics and music behind these later songs is just better.

I already do. Moved my gf's family in the Woodlands a couple of weekends ago and remembered just how good that station is.

I would call this classic country over any of the 70s and 80s stuff, but I hear ya. I absolutely despise 99% of the new shit they call "country music" now-a-days.

There is a TON of good, new country music. You're just not going to hear it on KSCS or The Wolf. They tend to stick to the Nashvegas crap.

That's the problem. It only works in 30% of the metroplex.
