The SU35 is a reverse engineered F15 with bigger engines, and therefore less range. It is also built in Russia, with Russian quality standards of the late 90's.

One of my fellow pilots here at AA just finished out his 20 and a wakeup on the 15. He was in the Nuke strike pack up at Elmendorf AFB. AF Academy grad and one time was the youngest Colonel in the AF. Small group of guys. The latest SU-35 is a highly capable 4th generation aircraft that can pretty much meet the current F-15s toe to toe.
The current F-15 has a slight advantage in Beyond Visual Range (BVR) combat while the SU-35 has the advantage close-in. (WVR)
Mano e Mano, the difference would be decided in training\tactics.
(Not that air combat ever happens in a vacuum.... ROE\AWACS\data link\other aircraft)
All bets are off once stealth aircraft are considered... the SU-35 still shows up as a flying barn on radar....Last edited by Gargamel; 07-09-2013, 10:51 AM.
