Picked this up last night, I got a pretty smoking deal after being at the dealership negotiating for several hours and not getting out until almost midnight.

Pretty quick for a "Sport Sedan" and handles great, smooth as silk on the highways. Now I just need to start finding "Mods".

And, yeah I know "Crappy cell phone pics".

I'm younger than that
I'm talking around 2006. The jettas, beetles, etc used to be trash (HORRIBLE reviews, and I have owned a couple), but now they seem to have people really happy.
Oh, and there is such a thing called listening. Family and friends tell of terrible experiences with VWs in the 60s and 70s. Also, just looking at and driving older model (not meaning 73 years old, like you, old wise one) VWs I can tell there is a difference.
Yup, I'm not able to buy tobacco, or drink. Oh well, at least I have a DL

First "nice" import car I have owned (drove a '90 accord in the mid 90s) and first VW I have driven. I have been nothing but impressed so far, if VW's were crappy back in the day I wouldn't know based on this experience so far.

Quick PS job of what I might do to it, opinions???

That shit looks fugly.. Leave it as is. Invest in some nice speakers and maybe have the turn-signals clear. But the wheels and the tint on the headlights are lame. BUT, this is my opinion.

Looking at wheels only at this point, but haven't really found anything that I like yet. Might want to do a leveling kit though, I am just not real fond of a rake even though it is very slight on this car.
