It looks like it will be probaly around 10k to 12k to fix, depending on what all air bags were blown and it is hard to tell from the pictures how much frame damage it has. It is a percentage of the total value of the truck. Since it wasnt your fault, haggle with the insurance and you can get what you want done, if you get them to total loss it make sure they give you what the truck is worth. Remember it wasnt your fault, so you have the upper hand. If your want it totaled tell them you are scared since the airbags were deployed and your afraid it will never be the same again.

Sucks, that was a good looking truck. Was the chick on the phone, was she at least hot?

Anyway, I'm not expert - but at a minimum I'd fight it and go for it being totaled. I've seen less damage on family's vehicles that have been totaled already.

Dont know if she was on the phone or not. It was 245 in the morning and she looked like she was coming back from a club. it was so windy that morning I couldnt tell if she was drunk or not, but she claims she lost control on a patch of ice. she hit me so hard it felt like I was sitting still and I was doing 70.

I wasn’t at fault so her insurance company is picking up the tab. I am just waiting to hear from the appraiser to see what they think. I don’t think my truck is at Kelly's yard anymore. I think it was moved Friday or today but not sure. I know it looks fixable, but I don’t want it back. Like I said earlier I wouldn't trust it to take another hit like that. After the first impact and then the subsequent impacts with the retaining wall, I really think there is more damage than what is visible from these pics.

I'm leaning more towards total loss on that one too. Considering that it has some amount of damage to every panel on the passenger side and then appears to have a bit to at least the drivers fender and door, plus the front bumper...that would only leave (maybe) the drivers side rear door that doesn't need attention? Add all that up with the extensive damage to the rear and likely also where the bed contacted the rear of the cab, plus the work that will need to happen on the inside from the 2 bags deploying and whatever else misc is found in the process....I'm betting they will write that one off.

Of course it's fixable, but I'm just betting that the ins. company won't be all too willing to sign up for all that....they can cut their loss, sell it at auction, and someone else out there will rebuild it.

Actually the only parts of the truck not touched are the driver rear part of the bed, hood, and roof. Everything else has some damage to it some how. Driver front rim exploded on impact with the wall

Well I got the call today. It is considered a total loss because there is almost 21k in repairs needed to fix it. I haven't gotten the actual breakdown but that is the total from the claims adjuster.
