I laughed though when they were going on and on about how much a F40 recently went for at auction thinking "are they comparing a possibly pristine F40 to this car that was totaled and then cut up and rebuilt?" I guess they were planning on selling it as all original and fucking the new owner.

I can't wait until the owner sits down and gets a phone call to turn it on discovery and sees his previously fucked up F40 sitting on a frame machine with a bunch of monkeys throwing feces at each other. I can't fathom how fucked up the chassis rigidity will be with a bunch of fatigued metal all over.

Did you guys watch the show? His buddy bought him out. He also had three people interested in the car at $900,000. He was in it almost $300k and his buddy gave him $400k for it. The car was also Ferrari certified so it is treated as a non-totaled car.

That being said I was very disappointed in the "fix" for the brake light switch. Also the engine mounts not lining up should have raised a red flag.
I also saw after they test fitted the bonnet that they added 1" spacers on the crash bar. That has me questioning the Ferrari certification. If it has to be within 3mm and they said it was actually done to 1mm, how come the engine mount was 1/4" off and why did the pedals not fit and why did the crash bar need to be spaced out?
Good judgment comes from bad decisions and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

Richard gets 15k an episode and any money he makes on the deals and builds . He makes most of the big money off the merchandise he sells at the shop and over the internet thanks to the show . He told me that personally a few months ago . Denny (The money man) planned all along to get the F40 to add to his collection but Richard was not in on it . He has some killer cars and another Ferrari . He likes the upgrades they made and he will make money on the car if and when he sells it .

It was pretty obvious that was the plan the whole time, just like on the bronco build. I figured out that was for whoever owned twin peaks just based on the color scheme/interior and Richard saying he had a buddy that owns restaurants based in dfw that will love it. Clearly the Twin peaks guy and him had an agreed upon build and they just played it up for TV with negotiations and such, which is fine it was still a cool build.

What does Denny do...I've heard he's a restaurant owner too, he's not the Twin Peaks guy is he?

He bought that badass C2 Vette last year too.

No , he owns a Jeep parts business . They build and sell Jeeps and parts and has done very well for himself . He is the reason (in my opinion) that Richard has gotten where he is . They ran the gumball together and set the record in Denny's Ferrari and Richard used the contacts he made doing that to get the Gas Monkey thing up and going . The two of them have been friends since they were kids and I know him thru my business partner that is Denny's brother"s best friend . They all grew up together . Our shop is on the same street as there's in Dallas also .

almost. Dennis paid 400k to get the busted pile of parts, and 300k for the repairs that Richard paid for, and 100k to the shop... thats 800k. if he had sold it for 900 to one of the other buyers, he and Dennis would have netted the same splitting the profits (100k each). It worked out well for both of them since Dennis wanted the car. If they had a bid over 900, Richard got fucked out of half the net profits over 900...

There are some seriously fast fucken cars on there, but the gd truck? They said it was 800 hp and like 5500 lbs? how fucken fast could it be to hold down the 10th fastest car in OK? low 10s? MAYBE? bfd... lol

The Camaro that Brandon has would fucken ass rape that truck imo, that thing is sick. Farmtruck dude was all bent and went to Chief to get him to not have to race, that was pretty choice.

That was my point. If he sold it for $900k he would get $100k profit in HIS pocket. So it still worked out the same with his buddy giving him 100k above what he was in it.

So we are saying the same thing.
