How do you think Allmendinger is gonna do in his Penske ride? I'd love to see him win it on Sunday!

According to C&D, LeMons more popular than IndyCar-

F1 will always be more popular due to the glam factor. Open wheel racing in the US used to be great until Tony George threw a hissy fit in the early 90s and decided to create the IRL in an effort to "be more like NASCAR". If you are as familiar with the scene as I was, you know IRL was a complete and total bust. There were hardly any spectators at the races and no big names behind the wheel. Unfortunately, CART started screwing up and it fell apart and we had no choice, at least in the US, but to have IRL.

Who remembers when CART came to TMS, but had to cancel for "safety reasons"? I was there in the pits that weekend. It was awesome seeing the telemetry from the practice sessions. NASCAR and IRL can't come close to the numbers that the CART cars were putting down.
Nothing cool as far as a car goes, but if you want photos of your ride...I can handle that. Check out my Facebook page if you're bored.

I worked for the parent company that bought Malibu Gran Prix and built the Malibu SpeedZone's in Dallas, Atlanta and LA. For 2 years, I was giong to a race somewhere around the country, CART, IRL, NHRA, etc. It was a fun time, I really liked the CART races, and the NHRA races were a lot of fun too. The NHRA drivers were more friendly and welcoming than the others, from my perspective. Still had a great time and some cool stories. We got invited to the opening of the Cali motor speedway (IRL, I think?) and were invited to the Penske suite, there were lots of big names hanging out in there.

Lol I'm just messing with you, I'd love to be that intimate with a team like that.

The new IRL chassis is ugly as fuck. I quit watching open wheel racing when Tony George changed everything. He ruined open wheel racing in the states

Tony had great ideas, they just got out of hand. His biggest wish was to get costs down. Now even though the new chassis is $100k over budget at $375k, it is half of what a '96 reynard cost, 15 years later.
