He came up to the station today and picked it up, looks great with his gear haha. He loved having the pressure gauge on his shoulder. He kept checking it and saying he had air.

Thats awesome. I still have a few of the items my dad made for me and my brothers when we were kids. That is definitely something I am sure he will cherish for many many years! (I know he isn't your son)
That is neat. How did you distress the bottle to look like it's been worn?
I used flat black as a base coat, then I had two pads of steel wool. One I would spray cream color into and streak it in different directions, then black in the other. I kept alternating until I got a finish I liked. Then sprayed clear gloss over that.
