I like the way they work . I think it keeps the motor in the rpm band and lets it pull better . And then there is the top end advantage also . LOL
I put the 302 back in for this year just to run with my buddies that all have HCI 302's like you .

I went from 2.73s to 3.73s and it sucked at first, it felt slower.

I was debating adding power and going with a 3.27. But the 373s pull fine to 130 now.

As long as you have a motor that can spin some rpm then the 3.73's are good but with stock heads they are not so great .

Ya stock heads were not so much fun, it sucked, 4700rpm power band.

It goes good and clean to 6000.

I was thinking it would pull higher, but I guess the cam didnt allow.

I had mine at the cruise (first day on the new setup) and I forgot my box of chips at home but it pulled hard to the 6400 limiter . I am pretty sure it will spin over 6800 and still make power . My tach was on the fritz so I didn't get a clean run but I am pretty sure we can have some fun . Josh got to see the pull when he red lit and I still motored past him on the first run . LOL

Are you sure the springs are good ?

They were fresh with new valves when I got them. I assume they are the springs Brodix uses on them. I would think they are fine.

It doesn't cut out or fall on its face, it just slows down.

I'll let ya look at it and see what you think.
