Every time my "IT" works on my computer it gets worse. I usually figure it out after he leaves.

I feel for y'all, I really do. It's what you get when IT is solely looked at as overhead/cost.

Usually and I see this a lot 1 or 2 things are common...Companies are

              1. Unwilling to pay for good talent, due to it just being a cost.
              2. Unwilling to send MOTIVATED and smart employees to real training - due to it just being a cost.

Therefore you end up with people winging it and not really having a clue. Which means it takes them 10x longer to fix a problem, which causes backlog and ultimately piss poor standards and CSAT.

Completely opposite of my company's IT department, of which I am a member. They pay very well, will get you any and all training that you desire, and in return, they expect you to be at the top of your game at all times.

About right except the language barrier was not as difficult as it usually is where I work. I'm sorry, but if you cannot speak well enough to be understood over the phone then it does not matter how well you can do anything else. And I've been in the same boat as the guy in the video. New laptop issued only to have the exact same issue within minutes of using a particular program and then told the fix is a new version of the program which is four months away.....

How is this your IT person's fault?

It's the typical response and in other words might as well be, "We really don't want to mess with it so we will blame the problem on something out of our control". Meanwhile there are hundreds of other users who have no issues.

hey i work in IT and things are over the top here the other way
a guy can't get his laptop to work in a conf room, he's the only guy
so we're replacing the whole damn wireless setup with 6 access points
why not just buy this one douche a new laptop?
Hell my laptop gets the same AP's wireless signal 50 fucking yards beyond that room!
