Couldn't he have put it high gear with the brakes on and dump the clutch?

              That was expensive.

Anybody know if that was that on Hwy 10 in Euless? Looked like one of their their squad cars and the road looks like right there about Texas Star Parkway.

It does have a tx dot number.

With the motor running wide open I doubt he couldve gotten it into any gear. They don't shift anything like a car.

                    That's a $40,000 problem.

I quoted a 60 series detroit the other day at 32k just for the engine, and it didn't come with everything. You'll have some gaskets, labor and miscellaneous parts to add to that.

The transmissions have what's called a stop brake on the input shaft, when you push in the clutch it stops the input shaft from spinning to make it easier to go into gear. I'm not sure if it would've helped in this instance, but it could.

How would the battery cutoff help? There are no spark plugs.

I'm thinking more of closing the supply of fuel. Not sure if the fuel pump would be affected by a battery cut off.

I'm curious about solutions on this since I'm a OTR driver myself.

                              Please explain how that's possible.
