I'm pretty sure it's just the HDR setting on the camera used.

I'll check into that, I thought it was done during the editing portion. I think it adds a nice effect to some pictures but never knew what was being adjusted or changed to accomplish it.

HDR is generally done in post processing (editing). You take three photos of the same scene with three different exposures then merge them

Like light, medium and dark. But then they'd just come out as medium!

Oh, and shumpertdavid, the shine is most likely Zaino.

This. With many of the professionally done pictures they do you photoshop for further editing though.

HDR can't go away fast enough.
Nothing cool as far as a car goes, but if you want photos of your ride...I can handle that. Check out my Facebook page if you're bored.

I like the format of the picture. The placement of the truck between the trains and the use of the wide angle lens happens to work here, at least in my opinion.

I personally don't care for HDR in any form. I'm not hating on those who like HDR because beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some people like it, but very few can pull it off correctly. If you can see the halo around the subject, it wasn't done correctly. My eyes see HDR as a distraction and it cheapens the shot. If you look at the progression of a photographer, you'll see a tiny blip on their path that was HDR. Myself included. Most serious photographers quickly move past it...myself included. lol

Take my thoughts with grain of salt, though.

It isn't very heavily HDR'd if at all. A shiny paint job is reflecting the trains. Doesn't look cartoony. I like it.

I follow what you are saying and assumed it would be an answer very similar, I don't have any photography skills but I like the hdr look in some instances. A friend did a couple cars for friends of hers and was asking me if I knew what it took to get the effect so I told her I'd ask and see. She generally does people photos in natural outside enviroments.

There's a handful of people that I know about that can pull it off. Trey Ratcliff is the one that comes to mind. His work is untouchable in the HDR world. He produces antastic works of art, no doubt about it. Tell your friend that he has HDR tutorials on his website http://www.stuckincustoms.com/
