if he had wheelie bars he wouldnt be allowed to run ODR.. he's not a pussy so he runs with out them. why dont you get on YB and ask some of the top Outlaw guys their opinions on bars?
Mine is as well. I will say that once I figured out how to get the car to work without the bars, it was much better off.
If you miss the front end setup the car will unload on the bars.
Proper front end setup and good shocks make all the difference in the world.
I'd suggest going that route before wheelie bars.

X2, bars were more of a pain than they were worth. So glad we were finally able to find a setup to take them off.
Mine were spring loaded. If you missed the front end setup (i.e too loose or too much travel), the car got up on the bars and unloaded the back tires. Spin the tires at the peak of an 18-24" wheelie and the front end comes falling back down quickly. Not an ideal way to make a run.
bars are more of a crutch nowdays . and alot of cars crash relying on the bars ,martins car at yb the bars bent in a u , and the ( sandman) car from the orlando race a few years back.
That 2nd part is a big key that many guys can't seem to comprehend. Wheelie bars don't just stop the car from rotating, they pick up/unload the rear tires. Radials don't react/grow like slicks do, thus when the bars start unloading them it can easily lift one tire more/faster than the other thus causing the car to turn/crash.
you can be as ignorant as you want but i study these and read about radial tire cars ALL DAY AND NIGHT (sadly) and attend races regularly. you would rather sit her and try to bully people from 1800 miles away, while really we are just laughing at you.
