That car is fucking badass!!! Leave it alone!!! If anything put a basic 331 under the good for a little extra traffic power but make it fuel injected.

So you think I should build a gasser out of my Ranchero instead? It already drags the rear bumper.

It would never happen. If it wasn't rusty, it would get an IRS and bags. But its not worth the investment.

I'd leave it alone and put in a screaming 302.

I really like the way this car looks as it sits now. The gasser doesn't look good at all to me, neither does the air ride. This car is much too nice for either of those options.

A mild 302 combo - possibly fuel injected, would go really well with the rest of the car and would make it a solid cruiser......no love for the I6 from me either. My first car was a 1969 Falcon with a 200 I6 & 3 on the tree....slowest thing ever and no fun to drive.

Ford I6s of that vintage are worthless from a performance standpoint. The integrated head/intake is junk and Aussie parts are expensive. For what it takes to do anything with them, you might as well drop on a V8. Besides, I imagine the 5 lug setup brought heavier duty brakes with it, so the V8 swap isn't that tough. Only problem is that those engine bays are small, so you're limited to a 260-302 sized motor. A 351w wouldn't fit without cutting.
