They were just more integral to their particular bands. I never really thought of Pink Floyd as a real key-heavy band. I will admit though, that his synth work and, especially, the synth solo on "Welcome to the Machine" gives me chills, it's just so fucking perfect.

I'll give you that, but I think his brilliance is in his subtlety. Like Mason, rarely flashy, but always what's needed. Plus, Great Gig in the Sky. And his backing vocals on Echoes.
