Besides, if you're looking for Floyd matched up to movies, there are better examples. Like Echoes/2001, for which there exists some evidence for the correlation, albeit unlikely as well.

To that end, there's this little bit from the director's cut of Live at Pompeii. Gilmour's solo on the demo version of "Brain Damage". Pretty much exemplifies the greatness of Dark Side: this solo is actually pretty nifty, and I enjoy it, but the final product is so much crisper, cleaner, and mature without it. (edit: the piece I'm referring to starts at about 4:15)
Piggybacking on that, such is also the beauty of Nick Mason's drumming. He'll never be mentioned in a discussion of great drummers, but he's a brilliant musician. He always played exactly what the music needed, no more and no less. Very underrated in my book.
Rick Wright, on the other hand, was a wizard. If you can come up with a better rock keys player/pianist, I'm all ears.

The Final Cut is a decent album, considering it was essentially the end of Pink Floyd, by that point.
The Wall is probably the biggest pile of shit album that's EVER been lauded as being great, aside from maybe Janis Joplin's Pearl. A double album of agonizingly boring tracks. A total disgrace to the band named Pink Floyd. I'll shit on that thing for the rest of my life.

The rest don't much matter, in my opinion. How do we forget ourselves? How do we forget our minds?

Good times....
I know what you mean. My experience was the roads of Bowie and Miller counties while smoking the wacky weed.
Here is another song that brings back those memories.
