I've pulled a similar manouver entering I35 one day. Guy in front was moving too slow for me, so I dropped into 2nd gear and punched it as I crossed into the white merge triangle. Must have caught some gravel because the back end came loose, and I locked eyes with the guy I tried to pass as my car spun a 360 right in front of him. I was lucky, and I didn't ever try that shit again.
