I guess I don't understand the point? Are they planning to race it? Or just see how fast it can consume $4+/gallon fuel? And yeah, the motor still works but now you get to spend another $3k-$5k on transmission work just to fix that, and then what when you break it again?
I'm all for big numbers, tons of torque, etc. but at what point do you have to stop and ask yourself "why am I going bigger when the rest of the vehicle can't take it"? And who pays to fix the trans? The owner or the shop?Originally posted by stevoNot a good idea to go Tim 'The Toolman' Taylor on the power phallus.

I wish it would have been done a smaller tires. Those 40" tires had to mess with the numbers and lead to the demise of the transmission early.
I still think the 6r140 and the 5r110w are the toughest transmissions available in a light duty. I've seen allisons shit the bed with less than 500 rwhp.

Same reason shops spend time and money building a car to take to SEMA

About:
In order for us to continue designing innovative products, every now-and-then we need to push a test vehicle to its absolute limits; we need to find its breaking point.

Kind a proves that their 500hp tuners are safe for the everyday driver who wants to have some fun with their truck, doesn't it?
Man, your post reeks of "no fun allowed"
