That's how quirky projects are. Very limited market. Doesn't surprise me that it's not a big seller.

I've got bigger fish to fry right now. Hopefully picking up another 6.4 this weekend.

I wonder if it's even quick?

Subjective, but I would probably say the average person would think it was quick, but not fast.

It's got to be at least 200 pounds lighter than a stock SRT-4 which comes in at a hair over 3000 pounds. Throw on a low restriction exhaust and Stage 2 and you've got traction limited high 12s in the 1/4.

But quick is relative. It would be quick enough to surprise most people, but not to hang with anything this site would label as fast.
Annoying people, one post at a time!

The white wagon I posted above was only a hair over 2700 pounds, and that was a V6. All of the structural stiffening to pass crash testing really put a lot of heft into the Neon chassis.

I'm pretty fickle when it comes to vehicle purchases. If it were local? I'd definitely buy it. I've spent more on less LOL

But my current project is an 08 CCSB 4x4 F250 fully loaded lariat w/ a blown motor and 98k miles on it. I just happen to have a good running complete 6.4 that I got a killer deal on a couple months ago. Been looking for a good home, and I think I found it. Hoping to have less than $20k in the truck. I'll end up keeping it because I love these trucks, but it should fetch $26-28k if I were to flip it

Most of the "K" cars like the reliant and lebaron were in the 2600lb range. I had a heavier 86 Lebaron GTS Hatch that was 2850. The original Omni's were around 2400lbs IIRC.

The sliceable diceable K car chassis was pretty good for the day considering how many cars were built off the same underpinnings. Pretty much like the fox body mustang....1978 till about 1993/94. The hot ticket cars were the Spirit R/T and Daytona IROC/RT with the 224hp 2.2 16V motors. Some of the 90'ish Daytonas came with a 3.0V6 and a 5spd which were pretty fun cars. The sad turbo I and II cars were less than awe inspiring due to massive turbo lag in the automatic cars. Manuals were MUCH faster due to shorter gearing but from what I remember, the bottom ends were good to 500 crank hp as long as you could get them fuel. Head gaskets were the big PITA...I think I went through 5 on mine at stock boost levels.

ah, the good ol' days! LOL!

Interesting the SRT4 is so heavy. Our 1997 4 door lemons neon with cage is down to 2100lbs....but there is a good bit of stuff missing. The sister car with all body panels intact, just no interior is around 2400 caged.

I had my charger down to 2250 lbs at one point. it's up to 2400 lbs right now. The loggy bottom end is cured by using a manual boost controller, the factory computer slows the boost curve down. I've got my charger set to 16 lbs of boost, and it lives fine. I need to get it back to the dale and see what it runs. Before I ran 8.02's and this motor feels much faster.

My Mazdaspeed3 curb weight is listed at 3153 lbs., but people that have actually put them on a scale have said they are closer to 2800-2900, and it has 276 hp/300tq stock and is fun to drive. Torque steer is a bitch, though

what year? pics? I tried getting my dad to buy me an 87 GLHS Charger around 1990 or 91...I was 16 and was about to get the 86 GTS as a hand me down. He drove it with 3 of us in the car and said "NO WAY IN HELL".

The guy selling it had an 87 Charger GLHS and a matching 4 door. I want to say they were $4500 ea or $8500 for the pair. Both had less than 20k miles on them. I think their son bought them and either got sick or passed away and they were practically giving them away. Truly missed out on that deal and I am sad about it to this day.

We bought my wife a 2012 WRX 5 door back in January and it is fun as hell. I need to get it on the scales and see what it weighs. We plan to use it for running 1 lap next year and hope to build it up a little before then with Brakes and Cobb Stage 2 stuff. Should be fun!
