    Well I have finally gotten around to starting the swap in my truck. I have been gathering parts for almost a year now. Been scanning ls1tech, buying from friends or friends of friends. Still have a ways to go, but hoping within the next 2-3 weeks, it will be running. Still waiting to get the heads back from the machine shop and need to order a hand full of misc parts and wiring.

    Bad ass man. There are so many of these builds on LS1tech and 67-72chevytrucks.com. As soon as I get my Z driveable, I'm going to find a 5.3 for my '69 c20.

            I've heard pick and pull has them for a good price. Also check efienginesupply.com, they use to have good prices on motor, trans, accessories and the harness. I have been just buying this piece by piece. All said and done I'm guessing ill be in it for around 3k but that is with a completely fresh motor. I'm hoping to see around 380 hp and 20+ mpg once all the bugs are worked out.

                Yesser I'm sure it will. Ended up having to buy a new crank rods and pistons for it. Cylinders were too far rusted and crank needed turned. Got a good deal on a set of 8 over pistons already hung on a set of reconditioned rods with a balanced crank. Just need the heads back and ill be close. Ended up with an f body cam for now. I want to get the bugs all worked out then ill look at maybe a 4l60 cam and converter.

                  Getting closer on the wiring harness. need to order a couple fuse blocks, some relays and find out where i can buy the pins for the computer plug and the tools to remove them. Need to add a couple wires for the fan control to this harness. Other then that and a little loom its ready to go!

                      You can remove the pins from the PCM connectors with a small screwdriver or pick. Pull the white tab away from the pin and then push it back through.

                      This is the crimp tool that I have used in the past with good luck. Their pricing is not that great for terminals and components, but they have them as well.

                        $31.00? I thought I had paid $10 for a pair. So I went to RJM and found they are $25. Must have gone up.

                          good work on the wiring. I am doing the same thing to a 64 but have the full 5.3 and wiring. I was planning on using the OEM stuff but this route may be easier. Did you buy the wires as a kit?
