What would you charge me for a 4l60 btw with a 2200 rpm converter for an ls1?
You really need to pull the pan to see what wiring type is in your tranny. Some have self grounding solenoids some used the ecm to ground the solenoid. most likely it will look like this.

Notice that the neg side goes thru the pressure switch just ground it on the outside to the tranny case and run 12 volts to the other side. Pretty simple.

If your tranny does not have the electrical connector on the drivers side it is not a TH350C (Lock Up version)

If you want a 4L60E the you will need that turned back on in your tune. Bring me a core and I can fix you up. Prices depend on what you want. Stock rebuild with normal updates start at 650.00 Converter should be around $500-$600. Or you you could get the stock re-stalled locally for around $200 or so. I would expect around 2000 stall from a re-stalled stock converter.

The motor bolted in with the trans, accessories bolted up and I was able to reuse the ps hose. heater hoses are simple, radiator hoses are simple, and with a standalone harness, its just a couple wires and your done! a couple adapters and the factory gauges will work, then just a tune and your driving... Easiest swap i have done. The most difficult part was building the harness. I started with a truck harness and modified it to route to the back of the engine for a cleaner look.
I've got so many other things to do to that truck first. This dude got pissed because I nailed his girlfriend, and hit it while it was parked in front of my house. That was over 10 years ago, and it's been sitting in a barn ever since. It needs a full frame off. I'm probably going to pick it up though, and bring it down the next time I'm at the farm.

We had to trim the passenger side engine mount on the chassis side for exhaust manifold clearance. We looked for F-body manifolds for a while but never did find them.

He used a reman '84 radiator so it uses that crazy hose. He had to drill/tap a pipe fitting in the water pump; I think that was so the cooling system could purge.

He used a Dakota Digital gauge package. He was concerned about the 4L60 VSS integration with the stock speedo so he just said screw it and got an instrument cluster that will work with the late-model VSS.

There was some reason we couldn't use all the stock truck accessories. I'm pretty sure the OEM a/c compressor interferred with the front chassis crossmember/cradle, and that's why he got this aftermarket one. I can't recall the brand but he isn't real happy with it anyway. It was about 1/16" out of alignment and he didn't notice until it chewed up a brand new belt. You are right about that power steering hoses; the stock ones just bolted right up like they were made for it. He eliminated the air pump.

Danny, does he have a build thread archived somewhere?

Nope. I don't think he's taken more than 3-4 pictures of the whole project himself. Basically all of the pictures have been taken by me with my phone.

Tell him that '10+ camaro manifolds will fit with 0 notching if he still needs something. Yeah the oem a/c wont fit due to the frame and motor mounts. There are multiple companies that offer top mount brackets that utilize the factory truck accessories and belt routing.

Been busy working on the suspension. Plans are to add a parallel 4 link with air ride along with a much larger gas tank. Also will be adding a k5 blazer rear bumper with a hide a hitch behind the tag. Here is where I am thus far.

This is how the gas tank will look once I finish it. I ended up cutting the upper mounts back out to put square tubing rather then the round I started with. Need to find some think strips of rubber to insulate it once done.

Hoping to have the lower control arms and panhard bar built tomorrow along with the rest of the brackets tacked in place. I am almost out of welding gas so not sure how far I will get.

Thanks! Really the toughest part has been boxing the frame. Shit ton of grinding and welding then the plates did not line up perfect so im going to have to do some grinding on the edges to square it up a bit.
