She's pretty good, technically. No heart or soul in that performance, though.

Maybe if she wasn't playing fucking twirly sticks, she could actually hit some of those fills. Good, for a thirteen year old broad, but not very awe-inspiring.
How do we forget ourselves? How do we forget our minds?

Pretty much. Needs more rudiments, less flash. Your shit better be toilet-bowl-licking clean before you start in with that. In her defense, there's a good chance that she has a bullshit teacher encouraging that. Ran across a dude once when I was playing in high school that was all about stick aerobatics and shit. Did one of those lessons and didn't look back.

And as much as I love Rush, I'd be okay with never hearing YYfuckingZ again.

Funny you mention that. Some buddies and I were out drinking recently and got onto the subject of Rush. One of them, who generally has a solid head about music, mentioned that he couldn't for the life of him understand our infatuation with Rush and some bullshit about Geddy Lee's voice.

Headed home immediately, pulled out my vinyl and played A Farewell to Kings and Hemipsheres back to back for him, making a point of the fact that the two albums were sandwiched back to back with the Cygnus books.

He texted me the next day asking what other albums to dig into. I've never been more proud.

Hope you mentioned Caress of Steel. Most say that 2112 was the album that turned Rush into Rush, but Caress of Steel, was REALLY the one that did it, even if it's considered a flop. It had sort of that Zeppelinesque kind of blues-rock type of thing they were doing on their previous couple of albums, mixed with the full suites of songs that they became famous for on their next three. It's certainly not my favorite Rush album, and far from my least favorite, but it is, without a doubt, their turning point. I just can't believe how over-looked that one gets.

I'm a HUGE pusher of Caress of Steel. It's almost as if they were foreshadowing what was to come on 2112 with how that album ends, but it still has that jammy blues-rock feel.

And Bastille Day is a goddamned jammin' lead track.
