Had a blast there this past Sunday. I ran the fastest time of the weekend:

    2:22 lap:

back to back 2:26 and 2:24 lap:

Finally, here is a link to the full last session. Towards the end, chasing a very fast modded GT-R on Hoosier R-comps, I got my 2:22 time.

COTA was anxious and thought we'd trash the track, litter the place, steal stuff, etc. Towards the end of day on Saturday, the local COTA staff realized Driver's Edge and the guys there were actually decent drivers, safe, respectful, etc. and relaxed. In short, COTA staff was cool and everyone got along. Rick and the gang with TDE did an outstanding job.

Obviously, the track is UNREAL. Probably the highlight of my track day life.

I'm running the tires mentioned in the videos. Michelin racing slicks. S9H compound.

That would be a solid time. Yes, the track is VERY fast. You will absolutely love it. The surface is nicer and smoother than any surface I've ever been on by far, including brand new paved highways, etc.

Not really racing, but I pretended anyway.

Well, heard a light scraping noise in my last few sessions. I get home and since the brake pedal was mushy, I bled the brakes. Well, pulling the passenger rear wheel, I notice the retaining bracket holding the brake pads in is uneven. I look closer and I forgot to slide the retaining pins through one of the brake pads. Luckily, no damage besides the bracket getting rubbed down a bit by the rotor and some uneven pad wear. The pad just slid down a little. Either way, I'm sure that contributed to my lack of confidence inspiring brakes. Moral of the story: I'm an idiot and make sure you install your brake pads properly before driving 160mph+ on a track.

Thanks! No, that name does not ring a bell.

Actually not that bad. The climb up the hill is awesome, but it actually helps with the braking. Then the turn is very tight as it's probably 120 degrees to the left and then you shoot down the hill towards 2. It's definitely going to be one of the historical corners like the corkscrew at LS.
