My nephew from my ex-wife's family was like that - not necessarily acting like a thug, but bieng a supreme dumbass in life. After telling his mother to whip his ass, and her not doing it - he came to my house for something (they lived about 2 hours from us)...

I told him we were doing a project. He was happy about it. I told him to get one of my extra fence slats, then get the jig saw. I drew a pattern on it and told him to cut it out - he said it looked a lot like a paddle. I told him, no shit?!?!?! HE cut it out, wrapped the handle with electrical tape so I woudln't get splinters and then HE wrote on it.... something like...

"I'll do what my mother says, when she says and without talking back - or I get this paddle on my ass"

After all that, he got an asswhippin' with it and that was it. Never again did we have to go through that.

One of the biggest reasons we have the problems we do is because of there being no father figure in allot of these kids lives . At least this uncle understands that just cause you are not the father does not mean you shouldn't do something . In the old days family stood up to help raise kids and make a differance and thats why we had a beter class of people back then . To Brooks , great job and I love the idea . I beat my sons ass everyday and if freinds or family see him doing something he shouldn't I hope they will to . I will not have an unruley , poorly behaved child . He will grow up with manners and values or he won't grow up . Like Bill Cosby said "I brought you in this world , I'll take you out ".
