I say the odds are greater he'll fall right back into drug addiction once he gets some money in his pocket.

Sounds like they should have developed a drug problem and lived on the street... then they could be famous now.

Of course you could read on, where I said I don't have any sympathy for the guy - I was merely stating why it is getting airtime.

On my lunch break, CnR were talking about how his mugshots have been posted online. He has some drug charges and one for breaking out of jail(or something similar).

His articulation, pitch and tone are are well trained. Some consider VO work and announcing an art form. He's got it.

He needed to be in the first place. Not like a job and fame is going to fix his problems.

The story gets so much attention because people just want to believe somebody down on their luck (whether by their own doing or not) finally gets a break, dusts off, cleans up, and comes back on top and lives happliy ever after and inspires someone else. He's no angel and he's got his demons to drag him back down if the issues that got him there doesn't get addressed.
