Yeah, but don't people make up a good amount of power with the 96-98 cam swap? Intake cam I think.

To me, that's a lot of work if that is the ONLY thing you plan on doing.

Yeah that is a lot of work if that's the only thing you do. But usually when people do cams swap on the 4V they usually do a lot of work.

          How much $ for < 400rwhp?

They do improve power, but not like an ls or small block will pick up.

I did a cam swap in my coyote engine and I picked up 45 rwhp at 7200 rpm.

              Yeah I saw the thread.

What will a cams only mod do vs stock cams?

You mean on a bone stock car just a cam swap?

Cams are hard to do in mods. 75% of the time they have way too much cam, and they loose 20-30rwtq and maybe gain 20-30rwhp.

But if you get the correct set, advance the intake centerline, they can show significant gains in torque and hp.

Comp cams 106100s degreed, 1 3/4 primary headers, udps, and a tune can do 340/370 rw which is pretty good... But its really easy to overcam them.

Yes vs other cars with cam only mod.

No clue never seen a stock coyote engine with cams only.

I am not arguing $$$, I am just saying that C headed motors are weak until you add cams or a blower.

You could pick up a used blower kit or do an eaton swap for the same $2,000 or maybe a little more. Cams on a 4v are a last resort for me.

                              That's my take on it.

                                That's an expensive proposition with a 4.6
