Good job bud. Not a fan of the cheap blue ones you see rolling around. Nor being blinded by badly aimed ones. I've always been a fan of silverstars but they don't seem to last.

Thought about retro kits but not big on chopping up my housing and possibly messing them up.
Non tapatalk Sig so the butt hurt va-JJs can stop crying about not being able to turn it off.

I'm still waiting for you to post up where one can find the department standards. They wouldn't be illegal unless there was a statute somewhere outlining the standards, now would they? If you don't know, that's cool, not everyone knows everything about their jobs, but don't act like "because Barney Fife said it was illegal it is." I got pulled over a few months ago for a statute that hasn't been on the books since 2003.

Know more about what you're talking about, don't seem like a dumbass.

I grew up in a time era where timeout was for pussies. Nothing's illegal till you get caught!!!

It's not part of the safety inspection. But a state trooper will bust your ass for having them. A guy I work with just got a $300 fine for this.

Haha, I know. Always hearing its illegal and all this bs. I simply did not have the $800 to spend on a retrofit (which is the best way to go). And my dad wanted more visibility compared to the lame halogens. And he loves em so far and hes 57. Lol

Maybe that state trooper was just having a bad day and decided to be an asshole about it. Lol

I admit my info may be wrong, but that was the requirement last I looked, if I'm wrong please cite a valid source.
The confusion is always between state law, and DOT regulations. DOT states HID has to have a certain number of requirements for the housing, such as squirters, automatic angle compensation, and refracting lenses, etc. Most of the time that never gets picked up by any inspector. I doubt state law has any housing requirements (do they?), most people are just reciting federal DOT requirements.
