This shark is typically 5-8 foot long and is probably the one responsible for the MOST fatal attacks on humans... especially ones that involve EATING the person. It also likes to swim up rivers and lives in lakes. It adapts well to fresh water.

Great White still tops the number of attacks, including fatal. The fresh water capabilities of the bull are still pretty crazy.

Fuck all sharks. I know that humans aren't their ideal prey and most bites are because they thought it might be something else...supposedly. If the end result is still getting bit, it's all the same. Fuck sharks.

Fuck all sharks. Fuck all fish. Most people are scared of spiders and snakes or whatever. I'm fucking terrified of anything that swims in dark water and I can't see it.

The people in the video would be dead and I'd be returning to shore alone.

I swam in open water with several 30+ ft whale sharks in Mexico.

On paper, yes. The Bull Shark is also called the Zambiezi Shark. It's responsible for a LOT of attacks that are never reported. Mainly because it can go into brackish water and upstream. Tons of natives disappear due to that critter.

That. I went scuba diving in Grand Cayman knowing that there were two tiger sharks in the area, a 13 and 10 footer. I had eyes in the back of my head for that whole trip. I am not really scared of sharks when I am diving, but you won't catch me snorkeling or surfing.

Most of the attacks are mistaken identity, best thing to do is not look like a seal or sea turtle. I would like to see a reef shark, but I could live my entire life without seeing a tiger, bull, or white and be perfectly OK.

If you're gonna go on shit we think but can't prove, look at the white tipped reef sharks. They're supposedly responsible for hundreds upon hundreds of deaths of seamen during WWII.

While that is the theory, since none of us actually know what a shark is thinking they could be thinking "I'm hungry. I'm gonna eat this fucker."

I'm talking active predatory activity, not a "oooo free food!" ship wreck type deal.

Yeah, there is that. There is one story out there of three research divers back in the 70s that got attacked by two oceanic white tips. Here is the quote from the wiki article. If this was a shark attack and not foul play by the other two divers, it couldn't be mistaken identity.

Temple was scuba diving with partners Bret Gilliam and Robbie McIlvaine in calm 80 °F water with 150 feet of visibility some 300 yards from shore. The experienced divers were retrieving research samples from Cane Bay, Saint Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. At a depth of 210 feet, they noted two oceanic whitetips circling them.Gilliam and McIlvaine began ascending to the surface first, momentarily decompressing on a reef ledge at 175 feet before noticing bubbles rising from Temple's position below. Gilliam descended and saw a 12-foot whitetip biting Temple's left thigh, and the second larger shark attacking immediately afterward and severing Temple's lower left leg. Gilliam grabbed Temple's shoulder harness and began kicking to the surface, but the sharks pulled the two men deeper to 400 feet, tearing into Temple's abdomen and pulling him out of Gilliam's arms. Gilliam and McIlvaine successfully surfaced and survived; Temple's body was never recovered. This may be the deepest shark attack on record.
