And people thought I was dumb wearing my tin foil hat."No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government"

An electrical component in an ammo can, inside of a metal trash can, inside of a shipping container would probably survive any EMP attack short of a close bang from a designer nuke.
This thing would be an absolute killer for existing infrastructure and its true purpose is to raise the cost of defending yourself from an attack from the US of A.Magnus, I am your father. You need to ask your mother about a man named Calvin Klein.

Each of the Items you listed are conductive and components touching the surface the box would be susceptible to the excited electrons traveling through the items, since the items are not multilayered to slow/redirect the electrons. The items also have minimal overlapping areas, which could result in direct leaks. Additional depending on where they are placed the could also act as an antenna or amplifier.
To properly use the items you would still need to use foil wrap, protective mesh, and/or rubberized coatings

Edit: It's really more like a microwave emitter than an EMP - the EMP is a single pulse, and the CHAMP uses a short burst of microwave radiation.Last edited by BERNIE MOSFET; 11-28-2012, 01:02 PM.Men have become the tools of their tools.
