Busy month outside the garage... was able to get the pan hard installed.

I've had another change. My original plans were to go with a efi 408w set-up, saving over the spring/summer/fall to free up funds... building a borderline beast (for a corner carving fox). Then a friend threw a wrench in the works and turned me onto an option that would save me more than half the money I was anticipating and exponentially speed up the build timeline.

Older gentleman owned, that never saw the track. Fresh crate 347 w/AFR185's and tko500. Donor has all the missing stuff (heat/air-134 conversion, and accessories) I was going to have to piece together. Not quite the oomph I had in my head, but certainly enough to have a fun street car, and probably a faster combo for parking lot play.

It also came with nice little piece.

Original Cobra intake. Upper and lower have been port matched and lower looks has some nice looking port work- I've heard one can make the lower flow fairly well, no personal proof. I may be giving up 20hp(just a guess) or so on above 6500rpm, but I'm pretty jazzed up about the little "cherry on top" for my Fobra.

Are the seats in good shape? If so, how much?

They are in fair shape, seat is not broken down but the leather is moderately cracked up.
There are a couple of people in line that are wanting the roller for the brakes, suspension and interior. This car has a ton of nice goodies on it, dude dropped a lot of coin on it.

What diff cover do you have? The Ford piece that is 3-3/4" tall will be VERY close to, if not hitting the PHB mount. I found a cover that is 2-13/16" and you will see that that inch is very important. If you keep that cover, completely compress the rear end plus some before you mounth the PHB brace. When mine was installed the rear was hanging and when we went and drove it, the diff cover got caught on the mount holding the body "down" and not letting the springs rebound it. Was a huge fucking mess that never got fixed right.

I just saw you already mounted the PHB. Put the jack under the rear and move it all the way up. Look real close at the slight arc it will travel on bumps etc and see how much room you have. I literally have thousands of an inch of "air gap" in mine, like sheets of paper. Luckily my rear is in their control arms and the Torque Arm. Even still I am pulling the entire rear and swapping for the shorter cover.

I love the build. If I had to do it all over again. I would have done a small bolt on 347 like that and just enjoyed driving it with the MM stuff and bigger brakes. I will be the first to admit that my build is classic overkill.

Yeah, it's easy to get carried away.
I've taken the rear-end most of the way through it's articulation, but not all the way... I will, hopefully we are good. Thanks for the heads-up.

Surely, you aren't going to dismantle that convertable, are you?

If it doesn't clear, check this one out. 2-13/16"
Strengthen your vehicle's rear end with the strongest rated support covers you can buy! These lightweight aluminum covers strengthen the rear housing from case distortion under load, preventing increased side bearing clearance and ring gear deflection.

When we figured out mine was screwed, we put the car on the ground and bounced in the trunk to see where it was hitting. Put the car back up in the air and busted out the grinder. Put a light coat of paint on the back and repeat.

Nah,... well to a degree, power train and associated accessories. Then I will be passing it on as a roller for it to live on. I had considered putting a stock 5.0 back in it, then selling, but time is not something I seem to have a lot of these days.

That's good to hear. That conv is a nice loooking car. Most of the Foxbodies I see on the road today are ragged out hoopties.

Not a fan of verts. But like you said hard to find nice foxes. Seems the only nice ones are verts nowadays.

                            Update:
Pulled the 347 from the donor car and as I was breaking it down to freshen up gaskets, I found that the farthest back DS piston was missing a small chunk and the bowl inside the head was beat up a bit.

Decided to have the short block gone through, replace the one piston, new rings all around, mic crank... clean up bowl, mill heads a bit...
Got the short block back last weekend and seized the cool (for August) day today.
