  • Read this article http://www.rcramer.com/fun/econobox/ about how they got a car that ran 16.3s in the quarter down to 14.3 just by using a sawzall.. So I thought that was a great idea and decided to see what kind of times i can get with my toyota.

        • I just bought this and LOVE her! 97 F150 XLT SC 4x4 (4.6L (W code) auto with limited 3.55 gears). It runs like new, everything works, and is top of the line for 97 (minus the leather). Havent wheeled it yet only because Im dead broke and nowhere to wheel around here. 174k miles on it but doesnt drive or look like it. Runs/drives/brakes/handles like it had 10k on it... Truely lucky finding this CL find! Previous owner has had it for over 10 years before dieing 3 years ago. it get about 400 miles a year since then. She doesnt leak a drop of anything, ac/heat work. Bad: driver door speaker blown, missing the 6 disc CD cartridge. How much would this be worth to someone? Curious if what I paid for her is a steal (I thought it was). (Camper shell is off now)

                  • ^Hoping to sell my 150 to get one like that in the near future. 4x4 scab/crew cab diesel are my only real criteria.

                        • My dad has this exact truck, but it says "4X4" at the top and has mud flares. He bought it new, but didn't get the EFI option because they had only a few on the lot. grrrr. The thing rocks...it's extremely light and nevers stops running. It fixes it's on misfires and blown head gaskets too! lmao.

I would like to restore it for him some here pretty soon. What should I do to it mod wise? I would like to have the diffs welded solid...that's the reason for the 1 time I got stuck in it....it was teetering on one of it's diagonals.

You don't want what I got. It's a 98 F150, paint chipped/ missing all over it and the 3rd door with a big dent on the bottom of it from where a guy that used to work for me backed into it.
