They still call it color sanding in the biz? I thought everyone had changed over to wet sanding...

A lot of the ol' schoolers still call it color sanding but the younger generation of painters refer to it as wet sanding. I asked a former boss why he called it color sanding and he said because older painters used to wet sand single stage paints.

You can wet sand at any stage. Color sanding implies that its after the base has been applied, I suppose.

I believe it comes from the days of lacquer paint jobs, but this is coming from someone who isn't old enough to know "the good ole days". I do have pics of my day spraying lacquer on his 73 Camaro in our driveway when I was a kid.

Either way, looks good. I just saw a 66 vert driving down the road. Guy is a pilot and bought the car new. He drives it everyday, and raised 3 kids with that as his only vehicle.
