I agree it is easy to sit back and say "he shoulda, woulda, coulda" after the fact. However sometimes things just don't go the way a person intended. Back when, fortunately we did not have technology to broadcast our mistakes and exploit our learning curve! Thank goodness!

he has been up before, just look at how he played the throttle. If he was scared he would have let out and slammed down even harder. If the wheel was straight it would have been a textbook power out wheelie.
He just fucked up and had the wheel turned way to far.

I have never had a car that could launch like that but known many who have. A lot of them had a piece of tape in the center 12 O'clock position to remind them not to turn the wheel when in the air.Good judgment comes from bad decisions and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.
