  • Gen V is here

We will be covering the introduction of the new Gen V Chevy small-block from Detroit. The press conference starts at 8:30 am (EDT) Wednesday, October 24. Check back often during the day to get the latest update on the engine that will power the new Corvette and GM trucks next year.

Yep, DI 11.5:1 compression ratio, active fuel management (cylinder deactivation, very subtle apparently and won't even be able to tell), etc.

Nothing earth shattering and pretty much what people expected. Fuel mileage will be quite a bit over 30mpg highway in the C7 for sure with all the tech and the supposedly lighter weight of the C7, better aero, and 7-speed manual and 7/8? speed auto. It's going to be pretty sweet.

                  I'm waiting for the LT9? i.e. the ZR1 Gen 5 engine. I'll be happy with 680hp, 3100lbs, and a bulletproof dual-clutch tranny.

I hope that fuel pressure regulator or monitor or whatever is bulletproof. It's in an impossible position to get to.

When do the crate motors hit the market?!
