  • The little shop that could, thank you for your support!

    I just wanted to say thank you to everyone here that was supportive in helping me follow my dream. Most of you know the absolute hell I went through over the last few years and the sacrifices I have made. Many of you on here have been like family and helped guide me on how to start this and what to do. I want to thank all of you for that. My little shop in the boondocks is nothing special at all and we don't do glamorous stuff but its been keeping me busy and earning lots of friends. People around here know they can trust me and get a good job at an excellent price. Word of mouth has been great and has been pretty much keeping me swamped.
    People have learned that we can troubleshoot and fix problems that several other shops ccouldn'tafter they charged them several hundred bucks. They also learned I am not scared of the big jobs too (three of the cars in the pic are getting motor swaps). I also have two more cars in the rear bays waiting on parts and two more getting towed in today.

    It sure isn't glamorous but I enjoy an honest days work for a good days pay and its nice to be my own boss. So thanks again for everyones support!

                      Thanks all.

                      And the Olds is just a 78 Cutlas with some special edition paint job. Has a mild real Olds 350 in it. Its not a Hurst car, it even is a column shift. LOL

                      Had a pair of SS ElCaminos last week. Well one was real, the other had a bench and no tach so it was just a clone. Get some cool cars sometimes. Had a C6 Vert in yesterday for some upgrades. 63 Impalla I had to rewire. Couple Cobras doing some mods. Couple Lightnings too.
                      Mostly its just old beaters that have had several people not knowing what they were doing working on them before. I have to fix so many mistakes it drives me crazy. And for some reason we have become the "engine swap shop". That Lincoln has a newish 04 Police motor about to be dropped in, the white olds inside is getting a new 3.8 dropped in it and the Durango is getting another 5.2 dropped in it. Threw a couple rods through the side of the block.
                      I have a full bay filled with motors I have to swap. LOL

                            Just last night I was thinking about your shop. I don't actually know you but I remembered your thread looking for help with the name/logo/business cards and I though "I wonder how that is going".

                            Glad to hear it is working out well, from what I hear it's a tough business to be in so I'm glad you can enjoy working on cars and being your own boss.

                              [QUOTE=LaserSVT;853788]

                              I'll be damn. That's one of my old Capri's. It was originally a 71 2000. I bought it from a guy in Mesquite in 2004 and held onto it for about 3 years. I got it running but it had rust issues in the front suspension that required some welding/patching beyond my tools and capabilities to fix properly at the time. I sold it to a guy in Springtown who races one and had a couple of others. His boys fixed it (they added the euro backup lights pictured) up even nicer and put in a 2800 V6 (so I heard) and then he sold it to a guy in Temple which I am guessing is where you bought it from. The guy in Temple was also selling a Chastain clone I heard. I have had over 12 Capris and this one was the nicest condition you can ever find. I kept my original 72 2600 and hope someday to paint it if I keep it. I have plenty of spare parts and I can tell you where to find a lot of things without dealing with Team Blitz.

                              Please post more pics. I am curious to see what else has been done to it.

                              I'd love to see more pictures of it.
