Agreed. He's a bus driver, not a police officer. For all we know, while he's performing the perfect "joint lock", the hood-rat could pull out a razor while he's up close.
Lol, you quote the term like I made it up. A weapon is a factor no matter how you engage. At least if you own an arm and applying pressure, you've got some level of control. She pulls a blade, all you have to do is pull an extra inch and snap a bone or ligament.
I guess he could have just drove off in the bus and slammed the brakes; making her fall. Then all he would have to do is claim a dog/cat/squirrel ran out in front of him. Of course that is way less entertaining.

Looks like we've got another jeet kune du ninja warrior master to compete with Adam and Steve!
How do we forget ourselves? How do we forget our minds?
OK, so allow it to escalate to a deadly weapon being involved and then maim her... which is much more humane than a bruise from a fist?
Yes. There's more control and you're only escalating in response. Upper cut her, she falls and cracks her head and has a seizure. I'd rather explain my tactic that resulted in a broken arm to a judge than defend a man slaughter charge.
Edit: also, you don't think she had a chance to pull a blade when he was choking her ass?
