I think I'm a pretty good gear installer and I set my gears up to the best I know how and you can hear just a very little gear whine in them. I say put the back seat back in if you don't want to hear any noise.
To me, that noise doesn't sound like gear noise. it's a soft grind, almost like what you hear on a brake lathe when turning rotors.

I got $5 that says a front dust shield is rubbing a rotor.

edit: from pulling a luke duke jump of some sort

i have to agree with grape here, def. sounds like something rubbing on the brakes.

my car has every excuse to be louder then hell, no back seats, complete tubular everything, ARB that i leave hooked up all the time, spool, etc. etc. and i don't have any noises like that at all. i don't even have any noticeable gear whine. and this is a fox body coupe.

and here i was upset that my front sway bar end links on our c6 were making noise. seems these 5.0's can be hit or miss for sure.

didn't even think of that but I had that happen to me and it sounded exactly like what I hear in the vids.

Remember when you lost that socket taking your backseat out?
