Wasn't there a powered hard top convertible also named the star liner?

yeah theres a guy in DWG that owns one, pretty rare care. Are you sure it was called the skyliner? I was under the impression it was a option for the fairlane?

It's kinda confusing. The retractable hardtops were all Skyliners. But the Skyliner was an option that was only available on the top-of-the-line Ford for that year, which would be the Fairlane 500 (1957 and 1958) and the Galaxie (1959).

So is it a Fairlane 500 skyliner, or a just a skyliner?

A Fairlane 500 Skyliner. Note the badges on the quarter panel, and the roof.
Yeah that's what I thought, okay just making sure I'm not a complete idiot. When everyone was talking about skyliners I got confused.

And my fav is the 55-56 crown vic skyliner with a glass top. I think it was the crestline skyliner for previous yrs.
You were right to call the '55-56 the Crown Victoria Skyliner. That was the model with the tinted green plexiglass roof section over the front half of the roof. The Mercury version was the Montclair Sun Valley.
Man they made that shit confusing.
