Danny and Eric got me thinking about STANCE in Danny's GNRS thread. Some rather cocky, but true statements were made regarding the cars built in this state. I couldn't agree more. I am not into cars that "lay gnarly frame, bro....!!!" and the sort of thing mini truckers jizz on.

Over on my club's msg board, there's a fantastic thread on Tri-5' customs and today's pics will reflect most of that thread as well as STANCE. Proper stance. Remember, folks - NO STANCE AT ALL is not stance at all. Cars that sit on their rockers were built back in the day for sure. No doubt about it. So, in a way I can see how period-correct or even better - period-possible stance includes laying frame; However, they always look "broken" to me and they have no soul, no character.....I don't buy it. I recently took the air suspension off my Oldsmobile to do something else. The results gave it some real stance and soul.

These cars for today will epitomize stance. Enjoy.

Of course, it was my car, built to my taste, but I always felt I nailed the stance I was going for on the 57. I was very happy with how it sat.

Canted headlights were a nice touch back then and good eye!! The bezels typically were Chrysler pieces. That's what caught your eye.

Having the car sit right is critical. You can do a lot of things right and still get ignored if your car sits like a stinkbug. Eric, your Chevy sat great and so does your Olds Fern. BTW - where the hell is that car??? Taking it to Austin?

Anyway, back to the stance discussion, dude on the Hamb was wondering if he should get whitewalls for his Chevy. I gave him an idea of what I really thought he should do.
