No way that "rock star" driver needed that "sissy" Stability system turned on!

I bet he thought differently as he was asshole over elbows, flipping.

      Hydroplaning is a biatch.

the system is very fast acting, and has a yall sensor and which prevents lateral accelleration.

It basically does everthing for you when needed, activates the brakes and throttle to get the car to recover.....that car is so advanced, it can activate the brakes independently for each wheel, and reduce/apply engine torque at the same time.

BMW has a Performance Center in Greer, S.C. across from plant that builds the Z4 and X5. They have a slick track they will water down and actually let you go up to 60mph around it, but they also WILL NOT let you de=activate the DSC system......I never saw a car go into the grass as long as the systems was active.
caddy does the same thing, you cant get that thing sideways without turning all that stuff off.

The joys of having a configurable "M" button, one push tightens steering and throttle response, stiffens the suspension, and turns off DTC.

None of this would have happened if he just stayed at home that day.

              You're almost correct.....

Activating the M Dynamic Mode and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) gives your sports ambitions free rein. Drive slip for both longitudinal and transverse dynamics increases at all speed levels because DSC does not instantly intervene in the automobile's motion. This does not impact on safety, however: it is just a means to increase driving pleasure

Hell, a Chrysler 300 does the same thing these days.

All new cars for America have to have a stability system in them. Think thats been the case for a year or so now. From the cheapest POS to the fastest thing out there, teh gobment wants to make sure we dont wreck cause we dont know how to drive.

No offense, but that's all bullshit. Any car can be thrown into a slide when driven too fast in low traction conditions with an aggressive maneuver like that. Once the stability system recognizes a skid, there isn't enough traction available to recover.

No. Yall. That there Yall brain box says "We are in Yall mode. Yall wheels are going to be going different speeds now, ya hear?" Don't get me started on Yanto mode...

I agree. The systems will try to bring the car back under control, but with limited/no traction (i.e. hydroplaning) you're in deep crap. Stability control systems cannot bend the laws of physics even if they try.

Of course they can. God took what he learned while making the LS1, and perfected his craft at BMW.
