I wasn't brave enough the first, second, fifth or even tenth time I've seen this on here and I'm still not brave enough to do it.

Nope. I'm in Toronto right now, and a couple of the guys from Ireland flew in a day early to do the Edgewalk at CN tower. We watched the video from their experience today. Fuck that shit. 116 stories up (1168 feet), on a 5' wide catwalk. And they were harnessed in. Somewhat. The harness was one rope, through a pulley, attached to themselves, and one clip. You couldn't pay me to do the walk around, much less leaning out and hanging over the fucking city like they did. Nope, nope, nope. Not a fucking chance in hell.

          That's just a smidgen over 200 feet.

I thought the same thing about having a parachute, but in the video description on youtube it says that they can't wear a parachute for two reasons. 1. extra weight/ less mobility 2. There are cables and protrusions sticking out of the tower. So you would have to jump very far out, and dodge stuff the whole way down. Personally the extra weight would be worth it not to climb down, but I guess it is too dangerous to parachute through the wires and stuff.

I've watched this about 5-6 times already, and I still feel like i'm going to fall to my death through my computer screen.

I used to live there. Awesome restaurant, that catwalk is fucked up though. If you get a chance, go eat at the 360.

I like shit like that, but anyone who says they can do it is full of shit until they prove it, which I can't, so...

Given the opportunity, I would go for it. I'm not going to quit my job or anything.

And on another note, harness or no harness you wouldn't catch my ass up there.
He is wearing a harness, but for the "free climbing part", he's obviously not attached to anything.

Also I never understood why they can't take a chute with them in case a storm blows in or something.
The chances of hitting a guy wire are pretty high with a 'chute, and OSHA would never allow it.

They did, but listen again to the part about taking the elevator.

I won't/didn't have time. We will be at the airport at 5am tomorrow to head back. In retrospect, we should have flown in on Monday and spent a day sightseeing. Next time I will. Tuesday we are at Belfast Lounge ( awesome old school Irish pub. Last night we had a bullshit buffet dinner at Dixie Curling Club. Tonight is Alice Fazooli's. the rest of the meals we made at our test kitchen in Missasauga.

Before I watched this, I spent a good hour or so on Reddit looking at gruesome pics and gore vids, ppl getting beheaded, suicides, hit by trucks....some seriously fucked up shit. Didn't phase me at all. Then I watch this shit, and now I'm all nervous and shaky. Pretty sure I'd rather suck a cancerous dick than climb that fucking tower. Fuck That.
