Travis barker sucks ass. I can't stand when he gets brought up in a thread or anywhere on the internet with the words "Awesome" and "Drummer" intertwined throughout.

See the hatred towards Travis is due to this generation thinking he's the greatest drummer ever and debating it like they have even the slightest fucking clue when they clearly don't. Then we get split into two groups: people that have common sense and understand that Travis is a really good drummer and puts on a great show. Then wash off the retard that the nutswinger douches slobbered all over us while talking from their ass.
The next group becomes overwhelmed with the "Travis is god" bullshit and says some dumb stuff like the post above.Detailing is an Obsession!!

Do I think he is one of the greatest ever? Hell no. But he is a good drummer.... more so when you compare him to who and whats around at this moment with the current generation of music. Music has become less and less about swinging some sticks and plucking strings. Now its about who works the computer the best and which great songs from the 70's and 80's they want to take samples from.Good judgment comes from bad decisions and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

No, he's fine for what he does. Just a little over rated by the ignorant who seem to think more convulsions during playing must mean more skill. He has done well for implementing basically nothing more than march rudiments in his playing. Good for him for finding his niche.

Originally posted by SS Junk View PostTop tier for sure, but not number one. As far as rock drummers go he and Peart share the top spot IMO. Years past and future you will hear more drummers say their influences were from the two mentioned than any other established rock drummer. I don't think it's really either one of their playing abilities per se. It's that both of them have a style like none other. Playing what they do is the "easy part." What I mean is that anyone dedicated enough can learn what is played. Delivering it with originality and feeling is a whole other animal. Watching Barker videos I am not moved to do anything other than empty my bowels. I just don't see what is special about what he does.

I'll say it again- Simon Phillips= best evar.Detailing is an Obsession!!

No reason to start getting butt hurt. Grohl is a talented motherfucker, however I only like one song he's ever done with FF. I loved what he did in Nirvana. I do respect the shit out of him. Especially pulling off playing a few Zeppelin numbers with Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones.
What I find amazing is hes made more money playing music than Steven Tyler, Sting, Stewart or David Bowie.Good judgment comes from bad decisions and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.
