I used to always think about the same way that the hybrid technology was pretty lame, but after seeing what Audi (R18 flywheel hybrid drive) and Toyota (TS030 Super Capacitor hybrid) have done with their LeMans cars I think it definitely has some potential. You have to think there is a way to capture all of that energy that is just turned into heat while braking and somehow put it back into accelerating the car.

Well, you also have to consider the nice little incentives the governing body is giving them. Same with diesel tech years back.

Not exactly fair when your diesel has 2x the displacement and x2 the boost as a gasoline car.
