I questioned that choice too. Manual brakes and manual steering also suck.

Would be hard pressed to build it for 18k. Motor, trans and ECU just ate $10,000.

If I was so inclined to do the swap, I would do the truck engine/harness/PCM and find someone with a spare stock intake for sale. I bet a "junk yard" setup from a low mile wrecked F150 could be had for ~ 4-5k
